Norovirus causes vomiting and diarrhea, is often referred to as “stomach flu”, and is not caused by the influenza virus. It leads to acute gastroenteritis, with symptoms lasting 1–3 days. However, individuals can continue spreading the virus for up to 2 weeks or longer after recovery.
